Cultivars (2):
Description: With the exception of the smaller and more pale pink flowers, the appearance of Lophophora williamsiiSN|1117]]SN|1117]] var. decipiens corresponds to the appearance of Lophophora friciiSN|1749]]SN|1752]]. Such plants are especially common in flat areas near the lagoon Viesca, whereas plants, belonging to the species Lophophora friciiSN|1117]]SN|1752]], grow on the higher elevations of the same area near Viesca. Hence we can assume that many of the plants, belonging to the species Lophophora williamsiiSN|1752]]SN|1117]] var. decipiens, may well be referred to the form Lophophora friciiSN|1752]]SN|1752]]. The “decipiens” was described 30 years earlier than Lophophora friciiSN|1117]]SN|1752]], and most of the plants whose appearance deviates from the habitus of Lophophora williamsiiSN|1752]]SN|1117]] and Lophophora diffusaSN|1752]]SN|1749]] could be mistakenly identified as Lophophora williamsiiSN|1117]]SN|1117]] var. decipiens. In conclusion, it should be noted that the vast majority of plants that are attributable to the form L. williamsii var. decipiens, belong to the species L. Fricii, and the described variation L. Williamsii var. decipiens can not be justified.
